Nothing like hooking into one of these beauties on an 8 wt flyrod. If you are hitting those streams right now, chances are you can hook into a trophy brown!
Since taking over the Resort….those days are memories.But you are so right about those fish and how special they are!More times than not….they just let you think you are in charge! 
Grew up in Michigan and chased them every year. Not enough opportunity to interest me here not to mention distance to fish. Definitely fun though.
It’s kind of a hike for me, but always like making the drive. In Chippewa Falls, you are 2 1/2 hours away from the Bois Brule, and 3 1/2 away from the East Coast. Even on the slow days, it is great to get out!
Here is a big brown from November, couldn’t find any steel that day. Wish it would warm up!

Steelhead are still in the rivers in the Eastern part of the state pretty good right now. Tom and I hit a favorite honey hole Wednesday, and we struck gold (chrome) right away! I caught 4 within the first hour alone, all on spawn. Ended up catching a dozen on the day myself, keeping my limit of 5. Including one buck that ran 30 inches. Not many suckers in, but plenty of steel. Tempting to make another trip over.

Brought my daughter over to chase steelies, not quite as thick this week, but she caught her first, nonetheless! 26 1/2″!! Lots of suckers in, now I think I fianlly got it out of the system!
