Anybody been out on Big McKenzie lately? We are heading up there for a long weekend, and I’m looking for a heads-up if anyone has been out there. Thanks!

If response is slow here Greg716, try contacting any baitshops you know of in the area and see if their reports are consistant. If not, go with general knowledge of the lake combined with general knowledge shared here and you should be able to put something together.

Please let us know how it goes…………..I’ve been wanting to get up that way for some time now…………just hasn’t worked out!

Heading up tomorrow morning for the last two Happy Hookers Fishing Club Contests of the year, with your’s truly in the point lead! I have fished McKenzie before, but always in the spring. Hopefully, the ‘eyes will be good to me! I will definitely post when I get back to let all know how everything turned out.

Fishing was absolutely horrible for the Happy Hookers Fishing Club. In fact, the fish weighed in were so poor I won’t even waste space talking about them. But now the good news: My 11 point lead in the standings appears to be enough to win me the Fisherman of the Year!

Sorry to hear things were so dismal with the fishing. However, pretty exciting to think you’re the club champ! Even so, it just feels better when it comes with a heavy tug on the end of your line.

What were the conditions? Low water temps, wind, rain………….might indicate part of the harsh results.

Never fished big Mckenzie for ‘eyes but it is a good bass lake. I primarly fish it for ‘skis. the lake can be tricky to fish, lots of structure and the fish seem to appear and dispear quite quickly. Like I said I haven’t had much experience with walleyes on the lake but I know I have caught some from time to time muskie lures.
