Where are you staying? My dad (SKPIKE) and our wives will be up there starting saturday through next week. We will be at Gypsy Villa on Cranberry Lake on the chain. We had fished these waters for about ten years in the 80’s and 90’s and found fish all the time. Now we are making a return after a few years of break to see how they are now. Maybe we could meet up some time to fish together?

we will be staying on Eagle Lake, Eagle waters resort I believe, I have never fished these waters, but I probably think they fish similar to my home waters (Burnett, Polk, Washburn county) lakes, what do you guys go after mostly?, and yes, maybe we can get out together on the water

Hey THFlounder, how did you guys do on the chain?, I think I did pretty well at least for a novice muskie angler, it took me about three days to get bass and walleye off the brain and start fishing muskie. I ended up boating 6 muskie, 25, two 34, a 35, a 36, and a 38. Very exciting, all fish came from eagle lake

Sounds like you did well! We focused on panfish and the walleye. We had a guide for a day on Catfish and Cranberry and caught 6 walleye out side the slot and 3-4 inside the slot. We caught about a dozen and a half good eatin’ perch and a lot of the little ones along with a few bluegills and rock bass. My dad had one smallmouth but no luck on the muskie, but we only did about 5 hours total in the week on the muskie. I am surprised that you did so well on the muskie since the boats were out for the tourney that weekend. But we had a nice trip and it sounds like you did too.

I fished some in catfish and yoyager lake, I had one follow in voyage, nothing in catfish. I ended up getting about 30 walleyes for the week. I could really only catch them right at dark or right early in the am, all fish were with the perch at the 5to 7 feet range, so the perch hammered the bait a lot. How deep were the walleyes you were getting? any big bluegills?
