I have been thinking about taking the family on a camping trip to the Door Pensula before school starts. Will proably be tent camping. Any info on where to go would be appreciated. I have a 6 yr old and a 6 month old so we would like to stay somewhere with nice shower/bath facilities, playground etc….
Plan on doing some fishing too. Don’t know if I will take the boat or not but I am willing to try out anybodys favorite spot. My son and I love to fish for fish, does not matter what species.
    Thanks…

Potawatomi State Park is by Sturgeon Bay and Peninsula State Park is by Fish Creek, both have excellent facilities, including showers, landings, cleaning stations etc., I would suggest reserving your spot if you plan on a weekend adventure as these are probably the most popular Sate Parks we have. Call the park and talk to a ranger and they should help in getting a site that will best fit your needs but I would do it soon as possible….

I second Bigpike’s recommendations… Penninsula State Park is a real gem and has excellent facilities (and pretty darn good fishing too!). I grew up in that part of the state (Green Bay area) and we spent a lot of time up in Door County. Camping at Penninsula was always a highlight…
