Well for many years now I have been spending a week in the great state of Wisconsin fishing. This year’s trip is now 13 days away and I can’t wait! I have searched and read all I can about the lake determined to make this year a good one for fishing. Hope you folks in the area have left some fish for us!
We have done a variety of other activities in our years in this area. We have been to Hayward for the Fishing Hall of Fame, lumberjack show, petting zoo and shopping. We have been to Superior/Duluth for the Great Lakes Aquarium (awesome). I was wondering if there are some area attractions we are missing. Any locals have suggestions? Thanks for any info!

There is Amnicon and Pattison state parks which have some very nice trails and waterfalls, and swimming I think too. There is the hole in the wall casino if you are in to that. There are lots of little antique stores up there in each little town. When we are up we are either fishing or sleeping. I find there are lots of good places to eat at reasonable prices. Hayward is only an hour or so from there. The St Croix and Nemakagon offer some great canoeing with smallies, and the rest of the usual river fare. There are some rapids to deal with so ask the canoe guy where to go if you are not experienced. Have fun, the muskies will be on the prowl big time in the early morning and at dusk into the night during that time of the year on Yellow.

Ya we have been to Hole in the Wall–and a couple more lol. I have never musky fished–if I was going to get one or two baits to try while I am there–what would you suggest?

I like Perch Jakes for trolling, but they were busting the surface like no tomorrow when i was there 3 weeks ago. So a couple of top raiders or anything in Sucker pattern would be good to hook. They will be suspended on the main lake.
