Went out with Dad for our first trip together in his new Alumnacraft 16.5 Dominator with a 90hp E-tech Sunday night. We werent looking for anything special just to go fish and spend some time as old buds.

The lake was pretty busy with boat traffic and with those Gosh Darn JET SKIS! I hate those things………..

Anyways the spots were we normaly get a few walleyes and northerns were covered with boaters. So we decided to look for some bass in the shallower parts of the lake.

Cruising with his new trolling motor (Never had one before) was something new to us and this opened new doors that we never were able to experiecne before.

As we were casting buzz baits and pitching worms I noticed that there were some huge sunnies on their beds still. After trying some small plactics for them with nothing to show I tried the old slip bobber with a chuck of a crawler. What a combo this made! Ended up boating around 35 to 40 fish keeping 20 of some decent bulls! The biggeset one was just shy of 9 3/4″ and tipped the scale right at a pound! This is close to my personal best bull gill.

I thought it was great that with all this new stuff to try and we ended up doing well with a method used way before my time!

I did think it was a little weird with the water temps were at 75 to 78 degree and the sunnies were still on their beds and protecting them. Maybe I dont know as much as I thought I did

All and all felt really good to get soem sun, be able to have a couple Mich golden lights, and fish with my old man. What a perfect day!
