I experienced the dubious pleasure of meeting and fishing with the one and only Superfluke this past Saturday and I’ve got a tell all of you that I had an absolute blast!!!

The day started with some question marks in the weather forecast but once I caught up with him, we started our adventure on Fireside Lake. Pretty slow. A couple of boils, small bass or two………………but no sign of the voracious jumbo Pumpkinseed. So we headed on over to Sand Lake to take a stab at the offerings over there and WOW!!! The day turned into things like this………..

“Hey, do you know if there are any pike in this lake?”

“I think so. But I’m unsure if you’re questioning it.”

“FISH ON! And it’s a………a PIKE!”

Ask and ye shall receive! So we continued to haunt the haunts and caught several bass on several offerings! The day was looking up!

Highlights of the day were things like finding the voracious jumbo Pumpkinseed on the end of my spinnerbait………….A feat accomplished by a fortunate few! Watching Superfluke master the death defying charge of a muskie! Finding out ringworms don’t need rings or tails left on them to still catch fish! (yes, that means I need more!) And just enjoying a very pretty lake with a right fine fisherman!

What makes me say that? Well, anyone that waits around to board a “Pup” with a bad case of jabber-jaw, survives the experience, and STILL says………..”What are ya doin’ tomorrow?”………….is a man among men!

There ya go ‘fluke………..that should make your dad proud and you can just mail the check to…………..

    Dang narcolepsy!

Anyway, my sincerest thanks Superfluke for a great day “up north”! I couldn’t have asked for a better outing or a better “Trophy Chaser”!

    To you.

………………….. …….oooooohhhh, before I go, I still think that hookset is going to land you in the drink one day!!!

you forgot to mention waits around to board a pup who showed up 2 HOURS LATE

Hopefully if there’s a next time I’ll put us on a little better quality sized fish

The sand lake we were at is the one in Rusk Co. near Island lake. The one by spooner?? do you mean the one by the junction of hwy 27 & 70?

    Well…………..ya know…………..I…… ……….didn’t think the detail was……….. …………well…………….ahhhhh………….. ……………necessary?

As long as it……………might be…………… to a certain……….possible………varying degree, I uhhhh…………….think I should mention that it wouldn’t have happened if the dang neighborhood watch, nightly “hall monitor” hadn’t been doing his job, I would’ve remained parked in the lot for my 4 hour nap!

But………… ……….late is late and I’ll have to put my thinking collar on……………figure out how I can make it up to you.

……….not coming up with anything good……….

I got it! How about another free lesson in mastering trophy Pumpkinseeds?
