Got on the lake at about 230pm Friday and found no real weedbeds which is odd for this time of year. Folks were moving all around to find fish. I headed shallow to fish with my new fly rod. Manage one largemouth about 14 inches on a fly leech. Decided to drive around jig but could not get any action. Finally pulled out the boards and trolled the north shoreline in 16 to 18 feet with lures running at 10 feet. Got a 30 inch and 24 inch norhtern really fast an and a 14 inch smallie on four passes. That 30 inch put on a show for the neighbors. Three jumps and a tailwalk. Moved to the west shoreline but only a drive by then the thunder came. Got outta there with everyones else. A little slow but OK.
ALL fish trolling came on black and silver shad rap or berkley frenzy shad in same color. Never tried the lure but put on and pow. Nice action too.
