Finally got a chance to hit Pepin this year. I know this is the WI lakes section, but I thought I would post my report here anyway. Figured you WI Boys might want the info first. Spent most of the day pulling cranks. Not exactly sure of the exact numbers of ‘eyes caught, a conservative estimate would be about 24. Got quite a few shorties, 4 ‘eyes between 15″ & 18″ (one was a sauger), the usual mixture of white bass, sheeps, and one northern. Did get some nicer eyes also. Boated a 23″, 24″, and a 26 1/2″ eye that tipped the scales 7 lbs. 5 oz. I also thought there was another one that went 20″, not 100% sure of that fish though, maybe the sun & heat was getting to me and it was only a mirage?!?! The fish caught trolling came from 8′ – 15’ of water. Trolling speed was around 2 mph. Tried pulling faster, but just wasn’t producing fish. Using #7 shad raps & #5 rattling shad raps. Best colors were firetiger, blue/chrome, and chart./white, with the 24″ & 26.5″ coming off this color. Pulled livebait on 3-ways in the back channel for a little while, but only produced short fish.

Thanks for the heads up coot. Pepin is a boundry water and can be put on here just as well as anywhere. Have you been up to Marshmiller after any bass or over on Spriing Valley’s lake George? Steve
