Agree with catmando. Nice Lakes, pretty good access and have seen nice ones on all of them. Have you tried Bald Eagle near White Bear?

There’s your popular lakes nearby like Deer and Bone..A little farther you’ve got Yellow and others….and a little farther yet, near Hayward… tons of muskie lakes- just to name a few ..Namekagon, Spider, Chippewa Flowage, Bis Sis, Grindstone etc. etc. etc. Plus many other small little lakes that I just can’t reveal. May 26th is the opener for the northern part of the state this year. Good luck!

Heck. Wissota in my back yard has as incredible musky fishery, the DNR boom shocked what would be a world record out of here about 15 years ago, there are 50″ fish that live in the Chippewa river below the dam downtown Eau Claire, above the dam is Dells pond, more 50″ fish….

don’t listen to any of these guys… I’m sure they all have a vested interest in local bait shops, hotels, resorts, or something. There aren’t any muskies in any of the waters on this side of border

You’d be much better off staying on the MN side of the river

Or you could just fish the river that divides the states, plenty of muskies in the Croix, but I would say for numbers, I like Bone. That sounded bad didn’t it?

Anyway, I don’t really fish for muskies, but I know one bass tournament on bone, a friend of mine caught 7 in one day on a jig and I always catch at least one or get a follow whenever I am throwing a swim jig or spinnerbait up there for bass.
