Topwater Smallie time!

    I took Rich Henrion from Norway,Mi fishing with me yesterday. We tried the Way Dam reservior, just north of Florence Wisc. We both love to fish shoreline for Smallmouth and we did pretty well. Water temps are still a little cool and I think all of our fish were still males although a few pushed the 16″. The hot baits were either a slver/black Rap#11 or my favorite Shad Top R. Even though the big girls didn’t show we had a ball.
    I strongly recommend flattening the barbs on your lures when fishing thes wonderful fighters. It sure helps to them a chance to grow and thrill you again.

    Here’s another scrapper that fell to a Rapala twitched near some wood cover.
