……………is all the time I had available so pops and I settled for hittin’ Squaw Lake. Managed about a dozen and a half crappies and another half dozen or so gillies. HIttin’ hard on either a chartreuse/black tube jig or a Gitzit crappie jig in black/white/clear skirt. Both options were tipped with a very small chunk of crawler.
As evening settled in, the bite moved from 10-12′ deep right up to the 1-3′ range along the shoreline. Tip: The minute the bit stops in the deep stuff, move up shallow. There’s hardly any distance involved in that change so when they move, the change can be drastic.
