How was your opener???

How was everyone’s opener? Here was mine in a nutshell.

I started on Lake Minocqua at midnight and caught four little walleye until three in 3 to 7 feet of water in the first hour, then blanked the next two.

Then fished Squirrel that afternoon and evening and caught a 16″ smallie and several very small walleyes at the evening prime time.

Tonight I was on Trout and picked up three reasonable fish on the north lake. They were 18″, 22″ released and a 16″. I missed another solid hit, had it hooked for a brief moment and then gone!!! Went to the south lake and by 9 p.m. the shallows were nothing but the splashing of spawning fish. We shined the shallows for a brief period and saw lots and lots of fish. The guy who was with me said he had never seen that before and now understood how easy it is for the Natives to get their fish.

Sounds like yours was better than ours. A couple legal largemouths, a 3-4 lb northern, and some smallish bluegills. Not very many people out surprisingly. Fun was still had as we didn’t get home until 4 am fri night and 2 am sat nite so……

In a word: slow. We had 3 fish in the boat all day. RedRockEyes had a small LM in the boat within 1/2 hour, so we were hopeful for a good day. Next one didn’t come for about 3 hours. Then he hooked up with a nice LM, and I got a small one about 1/2 hour later. That was it for the day. A couple of nice hits, and one that got off, but is was a beautiful day on Balsam Lake.

My open was great.I went to Lake Mason a lake i have never been to before.It was kind of a long drive but i had a good time.I caught over 20 bass in 14 -16 inch range ..All of them came out of the stump feild
