I wish I could improve this report but its better than last week.
Menominee River: River ice free as of this date. Good Walleye catches taking place in the area from the turn basin “K&K Warehousing” down stream to the Ogden Street Bridge by boat anglers, anglers reporting jigs tipped with minnows working best. Shore anglers reporting good Walleye success while casting Rapalas in the area between the Train Bridge upstream to the First Dam. Jigging Rapalas or Husky from the Hattie Street Bridge in the late evening hours continues to be the hot area. Occasional Splake, Brown Trout and Steelhead taken in the above area while casting Rapalas or drifting spawn.

Green Bay off Menominee/Marinette: Bay ice bound except for opening off from the lighthouse Pier. This open water is producing great Walleye catches by boat anglers jigging minnows or trolling boards rigged with Rapalas. Pier anglers out in numbers this past week but the catch has been slow.

Stony Point: No activity iced in.

The Bay off Cedar River: No activity iced in.

The Cedar River: River ice free with some shore ice as of April 11, 2003. Angler pressures slow no catch report. Boat and shore anglers using the Boat Launch Site at Cedar River are reminded to drive slow and watch for construction equipment. The construction of the new Boat Marina is in progress.

    Launch Site Report:

    Menominee
Lighthouse Launch Site: Open, ramps not in-place.
Menominee Boat Marina: Closed, iced in.
Mystery Ship Launch Site: Open, ramps in-place.
    Stephenson Island: Open, ramps in-place.
    Boom Landing: Open, ramps in-place.
Sixth Street Slip: Closed: Low water.

    Stony Point: Closed, iced in.

Cedar River: Open, ramps not in-place.

    Bay De Noc Report:

Both Bay’s still ice covered. The break up had started early this week
but cold and snow storms put things on hold for the time being. The
upper rivers of the area are flowing but the ice back- up is growing
daily slowing the steel head angling at this time. Although most of the
Bay’s are iced over at this time, the conditions are extremely dangerous
for those who might think of traveling the area. Especially with all the
new snow cover! I will keep you posted as to conditions, angling
opportunities and boat ramps as they are installed.(if winter would just
go away) Be patient! Good luck!
