Beaver Dam is a great lake for both smallmouth and largemouth bass. It actually fishes like 2 lakes. Cumberland is a neat little town as well.

I have fished the lake quite a bit over the last few years and have found it to be a decent fishery. I’ve caught some really nice smallies out there. If you are planning on fishing the lake the best time is during the week or early in the morining on weekend. During the day on Saturday and Sunday the lake is full of ski boats and runabouts making it hard to fish. I also know the management district for the lake is very active in restoring and maintaining a walleye population in the lake. They are one of a few lakes in the state that is participating in a walleye spawining study and they have a history of stocking the lake. The DNR also just stocked the lake with lake trout to help control the lakes smelt population, so in a few years the possiblity of pulling some decent trout of the lake also exists. If you are looking for more information on the lake, let me know hope this helps.
