Any info on the fishing on Lake Menomin in Menomonie, WI. I go to school at UW-Stout and I was wondering if there is any strong patterns of walleye or panfish movements that I guy needs to check out? Also I have heard the eating the fish at of Menomie is deadly, now is that true? You know college kids sometimes don’t always tell the truth. lol!

    Thanks,
    Brian

I don’t have the fishing tips for you but I know the fish out of the lake are edible. But, don’t tell them……………so there’s more for us!

The best action to cash in on now would be late ice perch bite.
As far as strong movements, just typical spring patterns for panfish. The walleye movement will depend on the the water temp come the opener. Somebody is pulling your leg on the eating the fish being deadly. If that was true myself and leinieman would have been pushing up daisies about a decade ago .
If you have any other questions give me a shout.

Darn, Hey Don don’t tell anyone else. It took me twenty years to convince everyone that they should put all the fish back in the lake. I’d be willing to blow some holes in the lake and locate some perch plus if your around when the ice goes out you can go out sometime with me in my rig. PS don’t eat any fish out of the Red Cedar River below Menomin. All those fish are deadly too. Let me know if you want to hit the lake. Steve
