    Hey,
I am thinking of bringing the family up to Wisconsin in June, 07. After spending the last couple of years in MN and Canada with the boys, the wife wants me to take her and the kids. I was looking on advice for a good family resort that offers good fishing too.
I like fishing for walleye and of course the kids want something easy to catch so any input would be helpful.
I had been looking at the Hayward area but at this point I am wide open.
    Thanks
    Jeff

    Jeff,

There are plenty of options in the Hayward area. The Chippewa Flowage is a huge body of water that offers excellent June fishing, for eyes, crappies, relly most everything. Nice family-oriented resorts too.

Lake Namekagon is also very good in the early season, up through July. Excellent numbers of walleyes. Lakewoods is a place that caters to families, nice beach, centrally located to some very good fishing.

If you favor a smaller body of water, think about the “quiet lakes” east of Hayward, Lost Land and Teal. Both warm up relatively quickly. We spend a lot of time in May fishing crappies on Lost Land…action can be non-stop.

Let me know if you’d like some more Hayward area info. When the time gets closer, I can point you in the direction of the best bite during your trip.
