Fishing is really turned on for northern pike and perch! The northern are hitting good on golden shiners and the bigger perch seem to like crappie minnows best. One guy caught a 45 inch muskie through the ice on Sunday while I was out there. So if you want a lot of action Lac Vieux Desert is good now!

Do we have a Media Pro-Staff guy over that way ? Sounds like some good camera action.

Are these fish coming on tip ups , or ice rods ?

I wish I was closer. I have relatives in Eagle River and I would like to get over there. What do you think the cold will do to fishing? Nothing better than a batch of Perch. What size are they catching? Steve

They were cathing the Perch on the jigging rods and the Northern on the tip ups.

The majority of the Perches were 7-8 inches and one nice 10 1/2.

    ecnook:

I understand the walleye fishing was not bad for a while. Last I heard they were still cleaning up on the pike and perch. I believe 24″-28″ were the average length for the pike and oakridger was right on with the perch.

Last spring I tried to talk a couple of guides into being a part of the network. They do post on other webpages, but cannot get them interested, YET!!! I am still trying.
