Anyone ever fish Lower Gresham north of minocqua? We are heading up here in about 10 days and wanted to try to figure out what to bring. Main pursuit is bass, would like to tangle with some musky too as I think they are in the lake. Would love to get info on clarity, weeds, forage, fish species (lm, sm, musky, pike, walleye?) and any thing else you feel like offering. Thanks.

    BASSBARON:

Good to hear from you again. Lower Gresham is much of what you expect. I have never fished it though Pope’s Gresham Lodge has one of the best fish frys in the Northwoods. As I understand it though the lake becomes very weedy at this time of the year. It is reasonably shallow if I remember right from my map study. Water temps will probably be in the low 80’s at best. I believe you are right on the lake species though I can’t answer that for sure. Are you staying on the lake or even at Pope’s? There might be some other lakes in the immediate area that might be better, although I think you should try it and let me know if there is a honey hole that I need to try.

Yeah, we lost our cabin at shishebogama- the owner rented it after the rental agency took our deposit so they sent it back and said sorry. anyway, we are staying on a private home on the lake. I might not be too mobile with the wife and kid, but ill let you know how it goes. From what i have heard, shallow and weedy is correct, but it must not get much pressure since I understand there is no public launch. Might be a honey hole . It will be nice to throw a 10″ plug again in hopes of a 50 ” fish.
