    I’M WANTING TO GO TO WIS. NEXT YEAR FOR VACATION. NOT SET ON WHERE TO GO. BEEN LOOKING AT LAKE CHETEK OR MAYBE SUGAR CAMP CHAIN ANY ADVISE ON THESE TWO OE ANY OTHERS WOULD BE GREAT. LOOKING AT GOING AROUND JUNE AND PRIMARILY FOR WALLEYE AND NORTHERN. ONE OTHER QUESTION WHEN IS THE OPENER?

    The fishing opener is the first weekend in May. I’d say you could look at the Chippewa Flowage or Island Lake Chain. The Chetek Chain is also very good.

    Have heard good things about the Chetek Chain even before my bro-in-law fished it this Memorial Day weekend. Sugar Camp Chain is just east of me and a pretty good body of water. While Chetek has alot of water around it, our area has 3200 lakes in the two counties.

    Also to the north and east of the Sugar Camp Chain are the Eagle River and Three Lakes Chains. And those two are connected, 64 miles long and twenty some lakes.

    To the west are the Minocqua, Flambeau, Pike and Manitowish Chains. Good luck choosing!!!
