Is anyone having any kind of fishing luck on lakes in the are like Wappogasset, Balsam, Blake, White Ash or smaller lakes in the Star Prairie area? I’m not looking for your spots, just some reports. Thanks in advance

We need to get more of those fishermen on line! I have a friend that lives right on Wappie and there are scads of ice fisherman on any given day…………………but he doesn’t fish! I fish in those areas during the summer but with the ice being so unpredictable for so long this year, I haven’t gotten the bug to hit the ice. If you know anyone from that area or have friends that head up there, get ’em online! The more we get in here, the better we’ll do out there. :O) Until then, call a few baitshops in the area……………….they should be able to give you the skinny on recent results. And of course, when there’s no where else to turn…………….JUST GO! :O) I do know that the typical crappie/gill action on Wappie is a just before sun up and evening to 2 hrs after sunset thing. Spots? I’d need to get my dad’s descriptions……………….I just road along and fished! Let us know how you do if and when you go!

I agree all the way. We need to get more people on line for this area. There is great potential in all of the lakes I listed and any help would help all of us be more successful. Thanks for the reply Stillakid2!!

I gave her hell for the last ten days in this area. The bigger lakes seem to be tough right now but maybe offer a little bit better panfishing. As for northerns…… Hit the smaller lakes and flowages. Caught some real dandies lately. Sorry – I don’t ice-fish for walleyes. Way too little patience for that. ———————Pax
