Started on Pewaukee Lake at 7 am and fished it til 10 am. Raised a couple nice ones but decided that we needed to move on to the next lake.

At noon a pretty 30incher came in and ten minutes later got a nice bass on a bucher swimming joe (a pretty nice size musky lure). We raised a lot of nice muskies out on Okauchee but the water temps were just starting to raise and so they were acting pretty lazy. Later in the afternoon, another bass came on on a 10 inch suick. Go figure – go musky fishing and you get bass.

Thanks Bill, it was a great day to be out. It was about 70 with a water temp of 56 to 61. We had suckers soaking in the back while we throw rizzo’s, suicks, and swimming joes.
    Great Opening Weekend!!!!

Cheri, did you see any walleyes caught on Pewaukee?

My girlfriend lives in Milwaukee and this was one of the lakes I want to try this summer for ‘eyes.

Pewaukee lake suppose to have walleyes but it is a known fact that they come hard to find. Right now the bite for walleyes seems to be on Lac le Belle and Fowler.

    Jason,

There are walleye in Pewaukee but it can be a tough bite. A couple of years ago a guy was trolling for muskies and nailed TWO big walleyes. I want to say 10 lbers but not sure. The guy was mad because there were not muskies.

Most of the walleyes I have caught have been little from open water. Have had better luck through the ice.

If you have a boat fish the weedlines off the narrow. The condos on the west side as well. They are there but with the boat traffic that lake gets the fish are just like Cheri said a tough catch. Evening and night fishing is always better.

I don’t fish Pewaukee due to the traffic and other lakes are better fishing for my time on the water.

    Derek
