I don’t know if this is even valid anymore. 30 some years ago I got to spend some time with relatives in Jefferson. There was a bridge behind the dam that went accross the river. Used to catch a lot of carp there in the summer, with an occasional cat. The only draw back was there were rats down there, but a portable radio kept them away.
I’ve often thought about going back there but never have. You see, when it would rain the water would fall from the open grates on the bridge into the river. This would bring the really big carp in. This is also the place where I hooked into the biggest cat I ever had on that I know of. It made a big run and came up out of the water and broke my line. My brother and I just looked at each other and couldn’t beleive the size of it.
Don’t know if the bridge is still there, but if it is it might make for some good summer fishing. Not exactly the info your looking for, just something to keep in the back of your mind for a rainy day.
