I will be heading up this weekend to Rice Lake WI looking to tie into some gills crappies or perch. Any reports from any area lakes, I know deer is a little out of the way but does anyone do well on panfish there. I will be brining my ATV, does anybody know ice conditions and are people traveling by atv? 
Wasn’t quite that far north last weekend, but most lakes i have been on have had 13-15″ of ice and most people are driving out again. I have fished Deer a few times, but not this year. Last i heard it was slow, but that was a while ago. The Crappie bite gets better later in the year. They do get some nice perch out in the deep holes.
Have the crappies been biting?
