In June there is a few weedbeds in Ten Mile Lake that have a phenominal crankbait bite. There is a good trolling bite on Chetek as well as Prairie and several great spots on Pokegema and Ojaski. Stock up on “clown” colored crankbaits.

Thanks for the info. What color of clowns would you suggest and what size? Is there a bite on Lindy rigs or harness?

The walleye fishing last couple of years has stunk. But, try the shoreline north of the Chetek/ Prarie bridge along the weedline on the north shore. Also drift deep from the ski club boat landing out into the middle of Chetek Lake.

My father-in-law and I spent a week trying for walleye and crappie in the Chetek area this past summer, and like the post above, the walleye action was nil nadda zip. However, the crappie action was non stop, even on a gusty post cold front day. Limiting out was not a problem for the tasty little guys.
