Late fall lake run?

I plan to leave the deer rifle in the case and spend opening day fishing browns or salmon. I have never fished the Lake Mich. tribs. I expect that due to the late season, the cold and everyone being deer hunting, the rivers should not be too crowded. Any info on the topic would be appreciated. Are there fish in? Where to go? prefer between green bay and racine. What rivers, hotspots? I know that I am asking a lot here. Its a 5 hour drive and I want to make it worth while. I live for catch and release.
