I am heading out to Oconomowoc area for a couple days. Anyone have any advice on the lakes in that area?
I have never been out that way.
    Thanks!

Try the east end of Pewaukee for Muskies. Trolling “is” legal on this lake. But I would cast and have a large sucker on a quick strike rig. Also try Nagawicka for bass. I have a friend who does well there. Never tried it myself. Good luck.

Okauchee is a great lake too. Muskies, northern, bass and panfish

Haven’t fished Oconomowoc this year but I hear the channel is extremely low. People are scraping their hulls at the bend. There is a huge sand and gravel bar (SW of the river)that holds walleye at night at the inside weed edge. I have cast husky jerks, shad raps and thundersticks along and down slope with success. There are many nice rock bass there as well. Have caught big smallies there, too.

They have been getting smallies in 4 to 6 feet of water but I believe the pattern on the lake is changing due to the cooler nights.

Walleyes keeps are 18 inches so be aware as there is lake patrol that checks “non locals.”

    Good Luck

Pewaukee is a fairly decent bass lake too, often gets overlooked with the muskie craze always going on there, sign up and join the muskie trolling merry-go-round.

    Jason.
