Just found out today that I am going to Lake Namekagon in October to fish for muskies. Was curious if anyone had any advice to give me about the fishery or anything in general. Any help would be greatly appreciated…

My brothers father in-law lived up there for a few years to fish, he said the walleye fishing/ bite was non exsistant during the day but when evening/sunset rolled around it was hammer time. 50″ size limit on this lake, not a great #’s lake……have fun

I used to go there for a week every year and we would get some real dandy gills and crappies out of that lake..but as far as day time fishing that’s was our best bet..I found fishing walleyes at night off the mid lake humps with a lighted slip bobber to be the best bet for me….

Musky guys were talking about the monsters that lake has, but like stated above, the numbers were not real high..

I read some where that the lake was down 70 some percent over the past 13 years for muskies…

She sure is a beautiful lake !!

There is a nice article on this lake in the latest Wisconsin Sportman. We have had late season success here and they can be very large. They are suckers for suckers.
