I’ve got a vacation comming up on Horseshoe Lake just out of Turtle Lake, WI. We are spending the week up there and was just wondering if anyone has fished it or can tell me what the lake is like. I looked at the map that the WDNR has up and it looks interesting. I don’t think I’ll have time to get up there to fish before hand. So any info that can be provided would be greatly appreciated. I almost forgot…we are mainly looking for panfish and bass I guess. When I have to myself I may get out and try for some walleyes too. Thanks again.

We got to try out the lake. We were both lucky enough to get the day off and boy it was beautiful. My girlfriend has the sunburn to prove it. We caught some really nice bass. The biggest was 22″ pictured here. I don’t know how much it weighed but it was a pig. If is wasn’t for a good net job I would have lost it. It was CPR’ed.

P.S. Pay no attention to the lueres in the photo. I threw every, piece of plastic, buzz bait, an spinner, I had. Leeches on a bobber were the only thing to produce.

Here’s one last phto of a nice one. I think we caught a total of 20 some bass. Every once in awhile you would be bringing in your leech and a Pike would snap it. The panfish we were after were very small. We were hoping for some bigger ones. If anyone has any good suggestions for a lake with bigger sunnies or crappies can you let me know. I don’t want to spend a week up there and only catch tiny ones.

Hey Krisko, where are you catching those big bass at on the lake. I fished it on sunday night after the storms finally cleared out around 7:30. I didn’t know where to fish so we just picked a bay on the south end and started fishing. I was impressed with the numbers of bass that we caught, but didn’t get the quality size fish. Caught our fish on berkely power worms and leach’s. Send me a PM if you have any tips you are willing to share.
    Thanks,
