Going to be up there for a long weekend with broinlaw and my 12y/o son. Never fished the area so see on the map have both the Turtle Flambeau and the Gile flowages nearby. Any recommendations on launches or starting points to fish? 16’5 Lund with a 80hp. Crawlers and leeches or minnows the ticket? Trolling cranks??….looking for any help. Thanks.

The Gile can be fantastic for smallies, some wallys mixed in, BUT– this year has not been good. W e fished it in July– it was not a pleasant experience… Watch your depthfinder!! there are some reefs that will come up out of nowhere. The landing off hwy C is ok, another is in the town of Gile- again watch you depthfinder…
Check for info on the TFF when you pick up bait in town. Turtle River Trading Post are good people.
Let us know how you do…

Thanks for the info g3/8. I had heard these waters were lower unit eaters so I figured on getting a hotspots map or similar when we get over there. Time to start packing!!
