Sand Lake, Rusk Co.

Last Friday I decided I needed some quick action afer a slow day on the Chippewa River so I dropped the boat in at Sand Lake and found some willing bass (small) to play along for a short spell. I had one HUGE hit on a Mepps that I didn’t get to see by the time it got off the hook but it was peelin’ line for a short moment! Superfluke will probably argue that it was just another pumpkinseed but I think this critter had teeth. This cold weather is certain to shake things up but this lake has some quick drops off the weedlines so I’m guessing the edges will continue produce with the right offering and presentation.

Is this the lake that drops to 100 feet?

I have not, but on depth maps, it looks cool with all the ridges and hills under the water. Looks like it could produce some nice ones.
