This story was run today by the local news station… I picked up the link from the WDNR.
These limits will change once the Native Spearing season is completed and then daily bag limits will be adjusted.

A little off topic, but I see the Palmer/Tenderfoot irony continues. You need to launch in Palmer and run the channel to get to tenderfoot. Tenderfoot = 2 and Palmer = 1…hhmmm, now if you come back from tenderfoot and exit the channel into Palmer, and warden wants to check your bag….2 walleyes in your possession on a 1 possession lake

That is actually addressed in the regulations. As long as you take the most direct route back to the landing, you’re OK. No stopping to fish or sight see on the lake with a limit of 1.

There need to be toll ways set up for leaving/entering the “ceded territory”.

Is there a difference between a daily bag limit and a possession limit for the walleyes up there?

    TBrooks:

There can be… The daily bag limit is 5 per person and the Possession limit is 10. In the ceded territory, technically your daily bag on each lake is 2 and the possession for that lake is 4… You can still fish another lake to get to your 5 total daily bag limit. Just make sure that you empty your live well to a cooler in your car/truck after each lake…

Hmm, that is interesting. I will have to look into it a little more. Thank you!

as long as you head right back to the landing you will be fine but as soon as u stop to fish your in trouble. We ran into this a few years back on yellow/little yellow in burnett CO

I was told this also by a warden. We have lake Alexander with lower bag limits and the Wi.which flows into it with a 5 walleye bag limit. The boat landing is on Alexander. Do not stop in between or you are over your bag limit.

I was about 6 boats back waiting to have an area to beach my boat for getting my truck to load up. Warden pulled up by me and asked the typical questions. Told him right away that I had my 2 walleyes from tenderfoot. His response “Well, your on Palmer and your not trailered up….” At least he had some common sense to view the busy launch and see I waiting in line. Gave me a verbal on that which I thought was BS. Had i stopped at a grass island along the route and started casting, I wiould agree then that I was in the wrong. But he was really splitting hairs on my distance from the launch
