Looking for any advice on fishing the Holcombe Flowage. It’s my first trip to the area and we’ll be camping at Pine Point Campground. Just looking to catch enough for a fish fry so we don’t have to survice on beer alone. Any good walleye, northern, bass, or panfish locations would be greatly appreciated.

    Wallace,
Go to Page 2 and read through the post on the Holcombe Flowage, maybe it can help. Lookout for those jet skiers, bad as mosquitos on Holcombe.

Thanks Mo! It’s been a strange year with the temperatures being so cold. I’m wondering if the bluegills have even spawned out yet? I pounded them on Prior Lake in MN a couple of weeks ago. As for walleye, I would assume they’re in the deeper water. Northern active? Who knows? If anyone’s been out on the lake recently, I’d appreciate any info.

    Wallace,
Talked to a friend that has a cabin next to Hwy. 27 “Silver Bridge” and he said the walleyes have been biting….he mostly drifts the channel by the bridge or heads up the Chippewa River near the Lions Park. This is also a great time to catfish….used crawlers mostly or dead sucker minnows.
    Good Luck

We caught a 18 1/2″ bass on a Rapalla in a small inlet of water. In Holcombe Flowage I believe it was called Poverty Bay.
