LaBelle – lot of short eyes. Bass, musky,is good. Panfish ok, need to search a bit.
Okauchee- very few eyes, good bass, musky, and pannies. Crappies and big gills are deep. Welcome to my back yard

To add to Randy’s reply, the “lots of short eyes” on La Belle refers to 14 to 19 inchers. Very good action and fairly easy to find, but if you’re looking for eaters, they have to be over 20 inches to keep, which are rare, and you can only keep one. But as for action, can’t beat LaBelle for eyes, bass, pike, white bass, gills once you find them, and the occasional surprise cat or ski.

Here’s a “hot-off-the-press” report from yesterday for LaBelle. A friend and I take a group of residents from the independent living section of the nursing home, that’s right on the lake, fishing twice a month during the early to late summer. Yesterday afternoon, 1 to 5 pm, was our second outing. We use the facility pontoon, and anchor anywhere we fish. Between 5 of us on the pontoon yesterday, we boated at least 30 eyes, 13 to 19.5 inches, several smallies, three yellow bass, and a 10 inch perch. Most just hang the bait over the pontoon, anchored in 12 to 14 fow, and wait for the fish to bite. Fathead or crawler half on a hook with split shot, or small jig did the damage. I threw plastic all afternoon, and would hand the rod over to a resident. All methods caught fish. The weed edge is usually in the 9 to 11 foot depth range on this lake. Just fish outside it, in 10 to 15 fow, and you should find the fish. We favor the north and west ends of the lake. Never know what you’re gonna get, but the eyes should be plentiful. This bite should go for at least another two weeks. PM me if you want more info.

The channel is filled with pike right now. bluegill pattern swim jig is almost guaranteed pike action and a bonus musky.

Crappies have moved back out deeper and I haven’t been on the gills to give much info.
