I was looking at planning some summer trips to Namekagon River. I just got a kayak and started doing some research and it looks like a great place to go.
I was wondering how the fishing is. Is it pretty crowded or quite rustic and peacefull. And lastly is there a better part of the river to float on for a weekend of camping and fishing.

    Thank you for your input!

I know it gets a little busy during the heat of summer. Popular place to tube and canoe! If you go early June or more towards fall I would imagine its a little quieter.

The tubers and canoers take the short routes bridge to bridge so you can find peace on the longer stretches. Also early in day. Honesly the only place I have ever seen bad traffic was from Earl down. Its a tranquel river. Crosses hwy a number of times but very wild. Not lined with cabins or houses. None really. Holes can be few and far between on the lower stretches. Holds all game fish including some very good sized smallies.
