Ok, let’s hear ’em. Who found success during this past weekend’s musky opener? We had a couple of long-distance releases but were able to CPR this fish, 37″, from Spider Lake (Hayward) . Lots of guys out, seems like the action might have been better on smaller, warmer lakes as the deep clear lakes still have temps hovering in the mid-upper 50s. If the weather ever improves, things should take off in the next couple of weeks. Enjoy! -BT

No way! You caught that on a fly!?

    Nice fish!

No wonder I didn’t recognize you…you have Rover for a mug shot!
Glad to meet you and that you could come today.

Made it out on the Apple River for a brief spell this weekend and had one let go and saw a small one rise up but that was it. Better luck next time!

We had lots of lookers but few takers this weekend. I was able to move 5 fish on a ~ 200 yard stretch of deep cabbage (9-12′) on Saturday afternoon but couldn’t convert any into bites . The 32″ fish in the pick was CPRd on Friday night, off the dock, on a white clouser. Fun fight in 3′ of water, with docks and boats all around, on an 8 wt rod!

    brooktrout:

I finally got back in the boat after what turned out to be a tough spring for walleyes. Last day out was May 19. This fish was caught on June 13. What a great day. I didn’t have to work on a Sunday afternoon!!! Thanks to my wife for that as the Club kept churning away without me. This 32″ fish hit a black hawgwobbler in shallow 70* water. I had tried to get out a couple of times before that but was having fuse problems with my new onboard charger. I think I have that licked now and hopefully can get back on the water more frequently.

We also picked this 32″ within 30 minutes of my fish. Torky can’t seem to keep his fingers out of the way. LOL!!! This fish came out of the water and ate a jackpot on the way back in. He was a little demon.

    All nice fish guys!

Brooktrout, would you agree with me that all fish should be taken in a fly rod? With home tyed flys?

No need to be upset about useing willow cats or the size of your bullhead!
