Stocked Walleye Lakes in Polk County

Anyone have information on how the walleye fishing is in Pipe, Half Moon, or Big Butternut Lakes in Polk County? I see the WDNR has stocked walleye fingerlings in these lakes the past few years so I assume they have trouble reproducing naturally or the LM Bass are wrecking havoc on the spawn. Any info would be appreciated.

I fished Pipe earlier this year. Lots of small buck largemouth and the locals told me that the walleye population is something around 200 fish. The DNR did a test netting and found only a handful of fish. The lake was subject to Indian netting and of course, the locals keep every fish they catch. I’d go for the bass if I was on the lake.

Walleyes are a better bet on Big Butternut, but again, it’s loaded with small bass.

Half moon is gin clear. Good largie lake. I would fish walleye early morning or late evening
