Lake Arbutus

I’ve read through some of the older stuff on here regarding this lake. Me, my dad, and my brother-in-law will be up on Lake Arbutus for a few days later this week/weekend. Any suggestions?

We’d like to get into some walleyes but really any fish will do for us. We’re easy to please. Not looking for table fare, just a few fish to catch.

    Thanks!

Weedlines are typically the best place on Arbutus to catch eyes. You can troll cranks along the weedlines in 8-20′ of water and pick up a few. Also, slip bobbers along the deeper weedlines will produce some eyes.

Lots of crappies on the west shoreline. Find some of the submerged cribs and throw bobbers and minnows at them.

We went up into the river in canoes a couple of years ago. Caughtbsome decent walleye and bass. Didn’t go up far either

Channel Cats can be caught in the old river bed using crawlers or cut bait too..

Used to fish it a couple times a year….
Early or late is best…lots of recreational boaters during the day..

Well, we caught a few smallmouths and a couple bluegills. Saturday was blazing hot, but Sunday was nice and cool early in the AM and overcast. Still couldn’t find any walleyes, but we had a good time. Not many people fishing it but lots of boaters for sure.
