Well, the big May-Fly hatch took place on June 1st,2012 so the fishing will get back to normal by about June 8th 2012, give or take a day or two. Even with the May-Flay hatch, the walleyes can be caught with a bit of finesse with yellow or orange jigs and a bit of crawler or leach.
The smallmouth bass are still near to shore and folks are catching some dandies in the 20″ range.
Muskies are making there presence known with a number of bite-offs near the boat from 50″plus fish by those fishing walleye.
All in all, this last weekend was a pleasure to be on the water in God’s Country, also known as the Turtle-Flambeau Flowage, Wisconsin’s Scenic Wilderness Waters Area.
Please see http://www.turtleflambeuflowage.com for additional fishing reports and info on the area.
