Headed up on Thursday, any updates from the area? Also a bit worried this rain and warm weather might be softening up the landings. Most of the snow should be knocked down so running and gunning should be easier by pickup. Thanks for any help.

Good luck! A lot of the better reports I have read are saying shallow is better than deep right now. We are scheduled to leave next Wednesday. I am guessing we might need wheelers by then the way it looks.

Please post an update when ya return. I’m heading up on the 18th and I’m a little concerned how the ice will be. We’re hauling the 4 wheelers none the less.

Just got off the phone with Jigglestick, hes pulled of all his houses on both Winne and Cut foot Monday, he says the roads were great off and on the lakes at that time but this soaking rain can change things fast-call ahead

he said the pearch and tullys were still going in 25 ft of water just about anywhere and crappies were still active on Cutfoot- 28 inches of ice yet in great shape

got back 7pm last night, the landings were getting sloppy, there are big puddles on the lake, but starting to dry up. Water has collected on the edges of the roads, but the ice was in pretty good shape. Saw one truck get stuck trying to be brave and jump a pressure ridge, or where the windrow of an ice road had pushed the ice under. No worries with wheelers.

Just got back last night. Perch bite is on fire on the first sharp break of the west shore in about 10 ft. Main ice sheet is in great shape yet and I think it will last another week. Landings we used or looked at are as follows. Highbanks looked great but they are closed now. I would assume the Birches would be in pretty good shape yet as it is just down the shore. West Winnie Campground is pretty much down to foot traffic I believe. On Thursday somebody took a truck out there and when they came off that afternoon they busted through about 75 yards from shore and busted the whole area up pretty bad. Trappers Rd. shoreline is in good shape. There are a couple cracks that opened up a couple hundred yards out and something to use for a bridge might be in order. The cracks are only in about 2 ft. of water.
