there are 3 hours and 4 minutes left of the 2009 inland waters walleye season.
it’s been a good but long season.
this weekend started off good for both numbers and size.
the biggest being Goose’ 24 incher!
Bruce stole Georges 21 incher fair and square so don’t let anybody tell you differently…
this is the time I have been waiting for all winter, time for the crappie hunt!
I will be moving a house and then two to a undisclosed crappie lake.
I will be searching for the suicidal slabs to show up on my graph just long enough for me to get a bait in front of them, teasing, tempting until they foolishly commit to my presentation. the result will end up on my plate and into my belly!
those of you who have asked about staying with me for crappie fishing, get a hold of me now and I’ll scratch you in.
you will be the first to know when I find black gold.
I’m thinking we should know something by tuesday or wednesday.
I’m taking tomorrow off for a much needed R&R. that and it’s my aniversary.
keep your eye on my “jiggles report” here. picutres of slab crappies should be coming soon!
I still have a couple houses out on Winnie and the jumbo perch action is heating up.
I have seen more big perch come up this weekend than I saw all last season. something is telling me march is going to be all they say it should be for the striped trophys.
the ice is still in great shape and cross country travel is very easy with a good pick up with 4×4.
whether you are staying with me or not, get up to winnie and catch some fish.
this is what we have waited for all ice season. warm temps and aggressive fish!
