Report

I went up to Winni for the day on Saturday and we had a great time. I got an invite to fish with someone who knows the lake very well and I just couldn’t pass it up. The fishing wasn’t fantastic, but it was really good. We got into the walleyes in the morning with plenty of perch and northerns mixed in. I rarely get up there again after our spring trip, and I rarely get a chance to fish walleyes with a jig after that weekend, but its good to know the fish are in these same areas year round and can’t pass up the jig and minnow. In the afternoon, we got into a mess of crappies. I brought my ultralight along, and had a blast pulling them up from the deeper water. I never would have guessed that the clouds I see on the depthfinder could be a school crappies.
