Just returned from a week of fishing on Cutfoot & Winnie, both areas produced for us. First trip was to Ravens Point area, dead calm with only small northerns biting our leaches. We returned to Cutfoot & this is where we caught all our large fish.
The best bite was in the evening till darkness set in. Over the coarse of the week we caught several quality fish. The largest walleye being 28″, next came 26″, 24″ 21″ & several from 17″ to 19″. Our biggest problem was to catch eater size walleyes in the 15″ to 17″ range, thow we did catch a few. We caught a variety of Northerns by chance, the largest was very close to 10 pounds.
We also caught some eater Walleyes out on unnamed structure to the west of Zoomers again in 12 to 14 feet of water. At this time the lake was rocking pretty good making drifting the preferred presentation.
We primarily fished with leaches on rigs, making inside turns on the contours in 12 to 14 feet seemed to be the best working depths for us. The inside turn was the key on many of our fish, the stopping of the live bait was very tempting.
Tried Bass fishing in Little Cutfoot one day, only caught two smaller fish but caught a few nice walleyes up there & a ton of snot rockets of the smaller scale.
All in all great weather, nice family time & not to mention a great stay at Bowens Lodge which we immediately booked for next year!! Thank You all for your input that made our trip more enjoyable!!!
