Well with the high winds and cool temps, the lake finally turned over making for a slower few days, but as soon as the fish re-adjust to the conditions, it will heat right back up. Most of the fish are schooled up and making there move to the Cutfoot waters. This last weekend, most of the fish caught in Cutfoot were slot fish. The Rock Pile is still holding some numbers of those eaters, yet the bigger slot fish are there as well.
The shallow water bite continues to be the best bet, with the areas that transitions from rock to gravel or weeds have been the best. Those fireball jigs tipped with a LARGE Fathead minnow or Rainbow chub is the ticket. Look for Cutfoot to really heat up from here on out. IF your fishing Cutfoot in the next week or two, don’t be afraid of that 20-30 feet of water, if your not finding action in the shallower water.
