Guys,
IT was a great tourney as most of the fish came from 3-5 feet of water. We had some seroius West wind on Saturday making for some 3-4 foot waves on the east shoreline where we fished. The bite Saturday was great for numbers of 20-24 inch eyes. MAinly the fish came from just inside the primary weedlines, and they wanted nothing but crawlers. After going through five dozen crawlers and actually running out, we had to find a jig and minnow bite, which we did, but the bigger weigh fish only wanted crawlers, so saturday we only found 5 weigh fish.
Then Sunday rolled around and it was back to the same areas to find a tough bite. Overnight temps got pretty cold and the shallow water fish seemed to be pretty sluggish, but slowly as the sun warmed the shallows, the fish decided they wanted those jigs and they wanted them active, it seemed the harded we ripped them the harder they hit. Again the fish came from the same depths. Numbers of 20-24 inch fish but nothing over 26. It was another great tourney from the Winnie Walleye trail, especially with how tough the July and August tournament were. Next year should be great.
