I’m going up to Winnie Sept. 17th. I guess the reason we are not hearing anything is obvious. Hope all turns around by the time I go up. Fall fishing on Winnie is either hit or miss depending on the weather, time of year, and time of day!

Nobody is posting anything because everyone is too busy out catching fish! I am sure you will have a great fall fishing trip up there….. That lake has always been good to us when we have went.

Sorry about being so slack with the fishing reports this summer. No excuses, but the new swimming pool we put in took up most of our spring, and our summer bookings have been incredible. Doesn’t leave a whole lot of time for fishing, or fishing reports. Things aren’t going to slow down for us very soon as we will be replacing four of our older cabins this fall/winter.

Anyway, here’s what I know right now. Conditions have been very dry around here so the lake level is a little low. No problems with any of the landings that I know of.

Fishing on Winnie has been consistent all summer long. Really we didn’t have a slow period, and right now is no exception. Walleye’s, Perch, and Northern are all cruising the shallow water along or right in the weeds. Jig and a minnow is working well for all species. Shad raps in the evenening have also been producing all summer. Fish 4-10 FOW and you will have success.

Mid-lake structure is still producing Walleye on lindy rigs and some very impressive Perch. 17-22 fow

We’re looking forward to Fall fishing when they get really aggressive. Look for Laura and I to be out on the lake towards the end of September and the first part of October. You can’t beat Fall Fishing on Winnie.

Sgt. Rock – We are looking forward to having you at our resort. We’re sure you’ll have a good time and I bet you’ll catch some fish too.

    Jeff
