Well, mother nature threw everything at us last weekend…weather-wise. Wed night and Thursday of last week we did really well up by McFarley Creek in 8 feet of water. After Thursday though, we got shut out along the north side and Raven’s. Word was, I should of been south. Due to the wind, rain, and even the tornado, we stuck in Cut Foot from Friday evening to Sunday. Did really well in Cut Foot, but all the fish were 18-20″ers. Tough to get eaters, but fun to catch.

I tried so hard to nail a walleye during the water spout/twister heading towards the Gap, but couldn’t get one to go. I did get some sweet pics of the twister itself. It was the only day of the week that I didn’t have the video camera onboard (due to rain all morning).

But all in all we managed a huge shore lunch, and brought a couple eaters home. The campsite in Cut Foot was clean, and left cleaner. It is awesome camping there (for free might I add), and seeing it clean with even no trash in the fire pit assures camping will continue . Not too many places left in MN where a crew can do this.

Thanks for the report. Do you have any pictures from the storm?

Great to here you caught some fish. That lake can really be a lot of fun. It has produced a lot of nice fish for me over the years. Yeah when the weather moves in though it is really no fun.

Once I get a chance to shrink and attach a pic, I’ll do it. But I do have a good pic of the Winnie Twister on Kare11.com…viewer photos.
