Looking to head to Winnie this weekend, will I need an extension for the auger. I was out on a different lake this weekend and it was close, don’t want to get up there and have any issues.

I am heading up there as well this weekend. Take the 5 mins and put it on. Unless you would rather chisel the last couple inches?

Not sure if you need one or not but “Its better to be safe than sorry”.

Good Luck, we are heading out of Tamarack

With all the snow and ice out there I would say it would be easier to have one on. I am planning to make it over there next week and I know mine will be on.

As of today, my Strike Master is just about down to the power head when you break through the ice. We’re not making any ice right now with the warm weather and snow cover, but this is March and that could change.

We were on Mille Lacs this past Saturday and with the snow we burried the extension a few times. On bare ice it would have been close to if we could have gotten away without teh extension or not.

I did go and buy an extension and I was happy I did, I’m not sure I needed it for sure but man it would have been close without it. Caught a lot of fish, only about 3 true jumbos, most fish in that medium size, big enough to clean but not big. Most of the fish we caught were still deep, 28-34 feet, very light bite almost everything on minnow heads. Hope to get back up before the ice leaves us.

Sounds like you had fun anyway and now you have an extension for next time you need one. Thanks for the report!
