We ended up just staying on Winni last weekend and tried our luck on the perch/walleyes. Boy was it could out there. We arrived Friday afternoon and where greated with a stiff wind and some frigid temps.
We fished off of Horshoe bar in 25-32 feet of water and found really sporatic action. We caught fish throughout the weekend on a wide variety of baits, (angel eyes, ratling spoon, little jigs, and bare hooks) but had the best action on small green jig heads tipped with a minnow. The best action coming during the peak times (sunrise/suset) For the weekend, I think between our group we caught about 20 Jumbos for the weekend and 0 walleyes. It seemed as though the fish came in waves of two/threes. From what we expereiced and heard, the massive cold weather shut the fish down a bit.
With it being sooo cold out there we didn’t move around as much as we could. I think if we would have been more mobile we would have fonund more action.
Thanks for all the help that people gave, I appreciate it.
