Have been meaning to make a short post of a trip to Big Cutfoot I made with a friend just before New Years. We make a 2 day trip out of it. Fished Little Cutfoot the afternoon we arrived and it was pretty slow, no one else was on that lake. The person who was to bring along a 4 wheeler had a change in plans, so we had to walk out both days. We stayed that night at the Gosh Dam Place on 46, and got out to Big Cutfoot the next morning. Fishing was still over slow, but were able to pick up some descent panfish, and Crappies, guess we had about 20-25 fish that day for the three of us, and only brought a few home. Crappies averaged 10 1/2 to 11 inches, and Bluegills were average from 7 to 8 inches, the picture of me holding the BG is a 9 1/4 inches, and is my nicest MN Bluegill in quite awhile.
We fished west of Williams narrows toward a deep hole, and fished 25 to 27 feet of water. Waxies/or a minnow on a weighted jig was all that was necessary. You had to keep moving to stay on fish, and the weather was very mild, sitting outside in the sun. This WILL change for this weekend….

2 summers ago we got into some real nice bull gills right off the Eagles Nest Resort beach. Was a fun day of watching bikinis and slip bobbers.

    Scott,
Probably only about 10 BG. and the pic I had was the biggest. the average was about 7 1/4- 7 1/2″. we went to hope to find some real Bulls and that didn’t work out. the guy who was supposed to be there also with a 4-wheeler changed his plans, so we had to walk everywhere we went, which really cut down on us being able to check a bunch of water..
    more soon.
